Last year McPherson Bullpup boys’ soccer team placed third at state, this year, senior leader, Aidan Wheaton said he has a bigger goal in mind for the postseason. “A team goal of winning state this year instead of just settling for 3rd place.” Besides the goal of winning state, Wheaton wants to help the
underclassmen learn good work ethic not only on the field, but also in the classroom. As a senior, he is taking his role seriously to impart a legacy of hard work and leadership.
Wheaton has been spending extra time in the off season preparing for his final season as a Bullpup. “I participated in 2 soccer camps and a 9 vs 9 league.” At the end of the 9 vs 9 season, Wheaton and his team placed 2 nd . An accomplishment he and his team can sure be proud of. In addition to this more formal form of experience, Wheaton has been working on basic fundamentals with teammates. While talking with VYPE, Wheaton said two things he is most excited about this season. The Bullpups just laid a new field at the high school and Wheaton told VYPE Magazine he is looking forward to playing under the lights, especially for senior night. The second thing Wheaton is excited about is making another run for
state.
When Wheaton is not found kicking the soccer ball around, he is participating in math relays for the high school and Scholars Bowl. During the spring sport’s season, Wheaton competes in boys’ tennis. After graduation, Wheaton is currently undecided about future plans.
