VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
One of my personal goals for this year is to win the state championship. Our team has been as close to winning it as you can get, but this year I want to go all the way. Another goal of mine is to have over 100 tackles. I also want to be a good leader and set a good example for the younger kids on the team.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I have had in the last year was playing in the 2022 state championship game. Even though it didn’t end how we wanted it to, it was still an awesome experience and it makes me want to get back there that much more.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher is Mr. Knapp. Mr. Knapp is the ag teacher and the FFA Advisor here at Inman. I really enjoy his shop classes and he is always fun to be around. He is always there for his students and continuously pushes me to do better.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory was when we beat Sedgwick in the substate championship game two years ago. The atmosphere of the game was unbelievable. Every player was pumped to be playing and left everything they had on the field. Every person in the crowd got into the game and were extremely loud during the game.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Jace Doerksen, a 2022 graduate, has left the biggest impression on me. He was always doing whatever he needed to help the team. He never thought about himself, but instead he kept the team’s best interest in mind at all times. He also taught me how to work hard for what I want but to always stay humble about my accomplishments.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being on this team is the brotherhood that we have. We have team meals every Thursday evening and also do lots other things together as a team. I can always count on them to be there for me if I need help with anything.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
If I could pick any place to vacation, I would go to Alaska with my family. I love being in the mountains and I would enjoy fishing while I am there.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
If I were to get $500, I would probably spend it on hunting gear. I am a very avid waterfowl and deer hunter and am always looking for new gear.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I have been involved in our FFA program for the past four years, and I am currently serving as our Chapter President. We organize a number of events every year in order to help the community. A couple of these events include Citizenship Day, a school wide community service day where we go around and help different members of the community, and an annual cornhole tournament to raise funds for a family in need from our community. I am also on the football leadership team.
