Last April, Rachel Fischer of McPherson tore three ligaments in her ankle, which forced her to Advanced Physical Therapy.
Being a competitive swimmer, Fischer clearly needed her ankle to be at 100 percent in order to swim her best.
“I am a competitive swimmer on the Nitros Of Kansas, and I will be on the McPherson High School swim team this year,” Fischer said. “Both of these teams are like a family to me.”
The road to healing and getting fully recovered was a long process for Fischer, but APT provided a clear plan to recovery.
“My treatment plan lasted about 16 weeks,” Fischer said. “I went through two rounds of physical therapy. And I was released of my restrictions September 26th, but still have to be careful and take it easy for a while and listen to my body when it starts hurting.”
There was one treatment that Advanced Physical Therapy used that Fischer thought was the most beneficial.
“I thought cupping was very beneficial to my recovery as it breaks up scar tissue and for me helped get back to normal range of motion,” Fischer said.
